‎"Spring Song" by Gluecklich (Oil on Canvas)

CA 1920s. Frulinglied (Spring Song). Oil on Canvas Painting/Print by Simon Glucklich (alternate spelling: Gluecklich). Early versions show the girl with her eyes closed. Later copies have eyes open. According to Urban Legend the girl in the painting was the blind daughter of the artist. She is listening to the song of a robin in a Birch Tree.  Genuine Mezzo Proof. Reinthal & Newman/ New York. Hand written Number. A mass production piece, the original has never been found. Popular among German Immigrants in the U.S.
